English Cockers

The Sunsage kennel includes some of the finest English cocker spaniels in North America.  The basis of the Sunsage breeding program originates from the original Parkbreck lines of two time UK Cocker Championship winner Carl Colclough.  Their pedigrees include FTCH Jade of Livermere and FTCH Jasper of Parkbreck (1992 UK National Champion).

Other notable dogs in Sunsage pedigrees include FTCH Chyknell Goldstar (2004 UK National Champion), FTCH Danderw Druid (2006 UK National Champion), FTCH Argyll Warrior (Sire to 2007, 2010 & 2013 UK National Champions) and FTCH Rowston Spikey Aderyngi (Sire to 2nd and 4th placed dogs at 2018 UK National Championships).

Puppies are allowed to go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age.  We breed primarily to produce the next generation of quality dogs for use in our guide string and our personal hunting dogs.  This results in a limited number of puppies being offered for sale from each litter.  Please contact us if you are interested in discussing upcoming litters and availability.

Started dogs from SunSage Sporting Dogs are introduced the e-collar, respond to the whistle, have been introduced to the gun and have a solid start for handling in the field.  We often have various levels of started dogs in our program and are happy to show each dog working and discuss where each individual dog is in it’s training.

Our finished gundogs are push-button ready to take out as your next hunting partner.  These are typically dogs have spent a minimum of one season in our guide string and as our personal hunting dogs.  We are happy to discuss each individual dog to determine the right fit for your style of hunting and personal preferences.

English Pointers

The SunSage kennel runs English Pointers with bloodlines from CH Wahoo Trouble Doc, CH Sir Lancelot, CH Rockacre Blackhawk in addition to Miller bred pointers.  Again, we prefer the smaller sized pointers for longevity in the field as well as bidability with top style as a walking gundog for the discerning wingshooter.
